Pregnancy family session, birth photography and a newborn shoot
Getting to know my birth photography clients before the labour is crushial, but especially important it felt with this family with a home birth plan.
This was my first home birth experience and I wanted to be sure that it was as safe as possible, so I was relieved to hear that there will be both a handmade and a doula present through the whole labour. Everything was monitored closely and the client was ready to go to the hospital if there were any signs that they might need medical help. I write this to underline how important it is to make a premeditated decision on home birth – and have a plan b!
However, everything went perfectly well and the labour was beautiful and peaceful. It was a privilege to be able to document all this for the family.
